This captivating bust by Guido Mazzoni is believed to be the future Henry VIII as a young boy. Yes, that's the same Henry VIII so enamoured of cutting off his wives' heads, destroying the catholic church in England and generally behaving in a pretty tyrannical fashion towards anyone who stood in his way, and a few who didn't. Was little Henry here an innocent child who would one day be corrupted by the power and status (and syphillis) that would come his way? Or was he always a little despot who was just waiting for the opportunity? Judging by the cheeky expression, I'd say it could go either way...
